FM Logistic has been recognized with the certification of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) for registering the calculation of its Carbon Footprint 2022 (scopes 1 and 2). This certification reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and its “2030 Carbon Neutrality” strategy, which aims to progressively reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
Of the total emissions recorded in 2022, 43% correspond to Scope 1, which includes fuel consumption in buildings, vehicles and refrigerant gas leaks, as well as fire-fighting systems. In Scope 2, electricity consumption in our buildings represents a significant portion, with the majority of facilities using zero-emission certified power contracts.
With this registration, FM Logistic has not only taken an important step in measuring its environmental impact, but has also presented its plan to reduce emissions in both the short and long term, consolidating its leadership in sustainable innovation. Among the most outstanding initiatives, FM Logistic has been a pioneer in registering a hydrogen station in Spain, and already has hydrogen-powered forklifts. In addition, the company is expanding the power of photovoltaic solar panels at its Illescas center, among many other measures.
This registration is part of an ongoing effort to meet the objectives of the “2030 Carbon Neutrality” strategy, and FM Logistic is already working on the calculation and registration of the 2023 Carbon Footprint, reaffirming its commitment to the fight against climate change.
