The 32nd edition of the CEL Awards, organised by the Spanish Logistics Centre, has recognised FM Logistic as a finalist in the Logistics Excellence category for the H2Login project. H2Login is the first integrated green hydrogen project in the logistics sector. H2-Login consists of a set of work packages to develop, in a suitable logistics environment: the monitoring of hydrogen production and supply; in addition, the transformation of vehicles for both internal use in the logistics platform (forklifts) and external use (a van for urban distribution); and an Internet of Things (IoT) type system to control and optimise the relationship between production and use of this fuel.
As part of this project, FM Logistic inaugurated in May the first hydrogen station in the logistics sector in Spain. Located at its logistics centre in Illescas, Toledo, this facility can dispense up to 45kg/week of green hydrogen. Initially, it dispenses green hydrogen to the forklifts in this warehouse. Soon, it will do so to a van destined for urban logistics, which FM Logistic is converting to hydrogen together with Tecnove and the National Hydrogen Centre. As for the forklift trucks, they are the first for the movement of goods that have been converted to run on hydrogen in a logistics warehouse.
The CEL awards recognise those projects implemented at national level that have made a significant contribution, either by providing an important benefit, innovation, research or a substantial improvement in the performance and/or sustainability of logistics processes. “We hope that this project will serve as a tractor effect to boost the commitment of more companies to hydrogen as an energy solution and to become energy independent as a country“, said Cándido Macías, director of systems and innovation at FM Logistic Ibérica, at the awards ceremony.
